my journey to becoming an RN

on the road to becoming an advanced nurse practitioner -- yikes! hope Emory U. trains me well..... this should be interesting...
It’s been a while! BUT I’m still here. 2nd semester of nursing school is in full swing, I think I have 4 exams under my belt thus far….still pretty much loving it. At the end of last year I shared the then upcoming opportunity I had to take a trip to Kingston, Jamaica to volunteer. We worked with an organization called the Missionaries of the Poor. They have sites all over the world, with Kingston being one. My heart was truly touched by this experience, and I am so glad to have had the chance to meet the young children I met who were inflicted with painful, congenital disorders. They will forever remain in my heart and prayers. I also give thanks for the many, many volunteers who don’t have much themselves but come into the centers everyday to feed, bathe and love the children who have been abandoned. I encourage you all to check out Missionaries of the Poor and make whatever donation you can, whether monetary, clothing & shoes, toiletries, non-perishable foods, they need it ALL. My heart is with Bethlehem the children’s center (see pic), so I’m especially asking for donations sent directly to them — send whatever you can!
Hope everyone’s semester is going swell. It’s mid-term, we’re almost there ya’ll!
Stay focused,
T.
