my journey to becoming an RN

on the road to becoming an advanced nurse practitioner -- yikes! hope Emory U. trains me well..... this should be interesting...
I Participated in a service learning project at Cafe 458 here in Atlanta today with some of my classmates (a requirement put in place my Emory/Nell Hodgson). The feeling felt afterwards in one word was AMAZING. My group provided foot-care to the participants and they were so gracious, so appreciative, and so receptive which made our jobs that much easier. Something so small (yet so important), as foot-care, actually made some of the participant’s day. Foot-care is very important for those undeserved, in particular those that are homeless, as their feet are usually their main source of transportation, so there can be a lot of wear and tear. To get down on hands and knees and assess, wash and treat their feet was humbling. I continue to have those moments, when I’m reminded why this transition I’m making in my life is my destiny. It’s already so rewarding and I’m only more excited for the future. There could be nothing better…
